SERVER RULES

Read and understand these rules before joining. Ignorance is not an excuse.

    Basic Information

    • Just because a rule isn’t specifically listed does not mean it’s allowed. Use common sense at all times.

    • The current criminal limit is 4 players, and 8 for gang wars.

    • Another player breaking a rule does not give you permission to do the same. Report it after the scene.

    • You are responsible for everything done on your account and PC.

    • Using water to escape police or hostile situations is prohibited.

    • Ban evasion, or assisting someone in evading a ban, will result in a permanent ban.

    • Advertising other servers, recruiting members, or sharing server information will result in a permanent ban.

    • Doxxing will result in a permanent ban.

    Roleplay Standards

    • Roleplay always comes first. Gunplay should be a last resort, not your first reaction.

    • Repeated violence (shooting, robbing, griefing, etc.) without meaningful roleplay will result in removal.

    • Terrorist-style roleplay is not allowed.

    • All characters must be 18+. No underage characters in relationships or adult roleplay.

    • FailRP (such as dancing on police cars, baiting officers, spamming robberies, or targeting one group repeatedly) will be punished.

    • Explore the city, meet new people, and create meaningful storylines.

    • A working microphone is required to play.

    • DWRP access is free but can be revoked at any time.

    GENERAL

    #1

    Random Deathmatch (RDM)

    • RDM refers to killing another player without sufficient roleplay leading up to it.

    Initiation Guidelines:

    • You must be clearly visible to the other party and make your intentions known before engaging. The opposing player must be given a reasonable window to respond. For group initiations, at least one member must verbally declare intent, and all participating members must be on scene.

    • If a situation took place within the last 15–25 minutes, you are not required to re-initiate. Ramming or colliding with a vehicle does not count as valid initiation.

    Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

Intentionally using your vehicle to injure or kill another player is prohibited.

    Exceptions:

    • You may use your vehicle to flee if you are in immediate danger and another player is physically blocking your path.

    • Unintentional collisions are permitted, but you are expected to remain on scene and roleplay the aftermath accordingly.

    Combat Logging

Disconnecting or logging out to avoid an active roleplay scenario, pending charges, a respawn timer, or a robbery is strictly prohibited.

    • You must wait for all active timers to fully expire before leaving the server.

    • If you experience a crash or unexpected disconnect, you are required to report it in #dwrp-help with a timestamp and your crash/error message as proof.

    Out of Character (OOC) Conduct

    • Remain in character at all times.

    • Do not use OOC terms in voice chat (e.g., “city official,” “green grass,” “RP check”).

    • OOC chat is for technical issues or assistance only — not for arguments or calling out rule violations.

    Restricted Roleplay

    • Slurs or hate speech of any kind (racial, homophobic, sexist, etc.) are strictly prohibited. This includes the R-word.

    • Sexual roleplay of any kind — including consensual scenarios — is not allowed and will result in a permanent ban.

    • Torture or excessively graphic roleplay is not permitted without clear consent from all parties involved. If anyone asks for it to stop, it must stop immediately.

    • Roleplay involving sensitive mental health topics (suicide, self-harm, abuse, or trauma) is not allowed.

    Scamming

    • Scamming is not permitted on this server.

    • For a situation to be considered scamming, the total value involved must exceed $50,000 and include an exchange of items (money, vehicles, weapons, etc.).

    • Dice rolls are excluded from the scamming rule and are participated in at your own risk.

    BAN PROCESS

    #10

    Kick / Temporary Ban

Kicks and Temporary Bans are used to immediately address in-game situations that can later be resolved in Help Desk or serve as a stronger warning.

    • A Kick removes the player from the server.
    • A Temporary Ban removes the player until the next server restart.

Kicks or Temp Bans may be issued for:

    • Invalid RP names (fail names, celebrity names, racist or crude names). A kick may be used to require a name change.
    • Failure to roleplay or being unresponsive in a scene.
    • Continued misuse of OOC chat after multiple warnings.
    • Entering an area closed off by admins.
    • Ignoring requests to join Help Desk.
    • Overly disruptive behavior that derails roleplay.

    Warnings

Warnings are issued as a courtesy to help players understand a rule violation before a ban is applied. However, not all bans will be preceded by a warning. It is at the discretion of the issuing admin whether a warning is appropriate.

    • In most cases, once a warning is issued for a specific rule break, the next violation of that same rule will result in a ban.

    • Players are strongly encouraged to reread the relevant rules after receiving a warning.

    • Any questions regarding rules may be brought to Help Desk.

    Ban Structure

    • Ban 1: 24 hours
    • Ban 2: 72 hours
    • Ban 3: 1 week
    • Ban 4: Permanent Ban (appeal required)

Ban duration is determined based on player behavior, receptiveness during discussion, prior record, and whether staff believe the player will learn from the situation.

    Immediate Permanent Ban (Appealable):

    • Racial or sexist slurs
    • Unwanted sexual behavior
    • Ban evasion
    • Outright trolling

    No-Appeal Permanent Ban:

    • Modding
    • Exploiting game systems
    • Memory editing
    • Similar severe violations

All disciplinary actions must be communicated to the player and properly logged. Evidence is recorded internally and is not shared outside of staff.

    Strike Reset

    • All strikes will reset 60 days after the expiration of the most recent ban. Abuse of this system will be identified and addressed accordingly.

    Appeals

Appeals are reviewed by Snr Admins plus and are done through a ticket in the discord. Player history — not just the most recent strike — will be considered.

    Ban Appeals

    • Appeals for bans under 72 hours may not be reviewed in time.

    • Validity appeals must be submitted within 14 days of the ban.

    • A ban’s validity may only be appealed once.

    • If a ban is determined to be invalid, it will be removed from the player’s record.

    • Appeals submitted before the required waiting period will be rejected and the timer reset.

    Probationary Ban Structure

    • Probation Ban 1: 1 week
    • Probation Ban 2: 2 weeks
    • Probation Ban 3: Permanent Ban

    During probation:

    • Warnings are typically not issued.

    • Most rule violations will result in a ban.

    • Extremely minor infractions may be handled at staff discretion.

If the player completes 60 days without disciplinary action, their strike count will reset.

    • Exploiting game systems.

    • Memory editing.

    • Similar severe violations.

    • Receiving three Permanent Bans.

    Rules May Be Added

We are starting with a basic rule set and expect everyone to use common sense. If players fail to do so, additional rules may be added as necessary.
